TDG / Source system

ERPEnterprise Resource Planning

An ERP system may be the source for material master data, inventory, purchase orders and receiving records. These references can help connect a product BOM to materials a business orders and holds—provided identifiers, lots and ownership are recorded consistently.

ERP / Typical contribution

What this source may contribute.

Material inventory, item master data and purchasing references. Use these examples to guide discovery—not as a guarantee that every field is captured or a final DPP requirement list.

01

Material master

Item/material ID, description, category, unit of measure and managed attributes that distinguish materials.

02

Inventory & lot references

Stock location, receipt, batch/lot ID and quantity where the ERP captures them at the needed level.

03

Purchasing records

Supplier reference, purchase-order line, receipt date and links to a BOM or customer order where available.

Scope check: An inventory balance or item master does not establish that a material is present in a particular garment. Connect product, order, receipt and production references and check them for the intended use.

Make the relationships explicit

Fields matter when they can be linked and reviewed.

A TDG data map records the source, identifier, owner and review status alongside the value.

Example field or checkpointQuestion to resolve
Material / item IDDo teams use the same code for the same material across systems?
Supplier and PO lineCan a purchase-order line be linked to the style, order or BOM version?
Receipt and lot / batchAre lot references captured and available to downstream processes?
Unit, quantity and statusHow are units, adjustments, returns and corrections recorded?
Illustrative only. Actual field names, formats and disclosure permissions depend on client systems, business process, data rights and applicable product-specific rules.

From source to governed handoff

A practical way to map ERP data.

Make the product-data journey understandable before selecting an integration or platform.

STEP 01

Locate authoritative masters

Identify maintained material, supplier, unit and location records for the scope.

STEP 02

Resolve the product link

Map ERP material references to the selected PLM BOM, style, PO and customer order.

STEP 03

Check movement detail

Confirm whether receipt, stock and batch records exist at the granularity needed.

STEP 04

Define correction ownership

Document who resolves duplicates, quantity differences and supplier-reference errors.

Compliance boundary: A system record, certificate or readiness map is not by itself proof of compliance. Confirm evidence scope and applicable DPP rules for the product and market.

Explore related sources

Follow the product data across systems.

A product record is usually assembled across more than one source. Select another system to continue.

The connected data journey

Start with the question. Then map the systems.
